π Code Blue: Designing for a Unique Fashion Show π
I am absolutely thrilled to finally share this project with you!
A few months ago I was approached by the βPartners for World Healthβ (PWH) for a collaboration.
For the past 15 years, PWH has been re-purposing and recycling medical supplies and equipment and then donating them to communities in need all around the world.
You may be wondering, what kind of collaboration would that be.
Well, every few years, PWH organises a fundraising fashion show called Blue Wrap Project Runway.
What makes this fashion show truly unique is that all the designs are created using Blue Wrap, a material used in hospitals once before being discarded into landfills (the swatch next to my sketch is Blue Wrap!). π
This year, the fashion show is honoring the countries that PWH has supported over the years, with each outfit representing a different nation. Greece - and more specifically the island of Lesvos - is one of them.
When PWH was looking for a designer to create Greeceβs garment, they found me!
The honor and excitement I felt were beyond words, so of course, I came on board!
Above, you can see the sketch of my design which is a modern interpretation of the traditional garment of Lesvos (read more about that here).
You are Invited!
If you'll be near Portland, Maine on the 16th of May 2025, I'd love for you to attend the fashion show. Not only will you get to see my design walking the runway, but you'll also be supporting this incredible organisation and its mission.
